Not great performance Although it played all the different codecs, it still had problems playing some of the movies I had which had a bit high bitrate. The lagg is really annoying and the sound gets out of sync, so it's hopeless to see those movies. You could re-code the movies with a bit lower bitrate, but it might be time-consuming.

I had found issues with this at 1st and found that different USB sticks gave me different results. It appears High Speed USB sticks work well with movies stopping or going out of sync. So try this before blaming the device. Its pretty amazing for its size and formats it supports. Also its the only device I have found that fast forwards instantly instead of wanting to examine the file 1st.

UPDATE - This unit has issues for sure. Even my High Speed device is messing up now. Have given up on using this to play AVI files.. its hopeless. Stops and starts all the time and will only let you turn it off.. Bad Product.

Wish I had read this forum before buying. What sort of a media center does not play avi files. As soon as I try to play it says "NON Support FILE FORMAT". Yet the manual says it plays AVI files. It's like buying a car with no wheels. Is there some sort of firmware upgrade that fixes this problem?
