What format is it recording in? Can you do time schedule recording or have to record by the EPG? Picture shown HTU-1000 but your description says STM-2000 so which one are you selling?

Does this unit use FAT32 or NTFS. The last unit you sold used the old FAT32 and not the new NTFS format needed for large curent day HDD. I just returned my Laser PVR Unit I recieved on Monday because it would not read any USB HDD device (even after software upgradeas instructed), the TV image continually froze and the unit would not play any AVI files. Cheers David

Can you change the channels while recording? Like record on channel 10 while watching a show on 7? I would assume that it would, a standard thing i would think, BUT it doesnt actually say it does.

Hi blakeuz, The Laser PVR would not recognise a USB dice to record anything on, it kept saying 'no device connected'. According to the LAser forum on this site, the Laser unit wants to read FAT32 formatted HDDs, unfortunately all USB HDD devices today are NTFS formatted. As for the TV program, when the image froze the only way to get out of this situation was to turn the unit off at the switch at the rear of the unit. No remote action could be activated.

hi guys, this is not a LASER brand, but due to the low price we are selling it at, our supplier request that we do not disclose the brand, but it comes with 12 month warranty as usual. it supports NTFS as well as FAT32. it is a single tuner PVR, so you can not record one channel while watching another channel, however, it does support time shift function thruough USB hard drives. cheers ray

hi lawry@scientist, it depends on what contents (HD or SD), usually with SD contents 1GB should hold at least 1 hour of recording. cheers ray

Does it send both video and audio through HDMI, as it should? Just asking as it also has a coaxial output. Does it decode mkv video and DTS audio?

Some crazy questions about this one.. larger hard drives can be formated with FAT32. NTFS is a windows owned format.. it has the obvious advantages like being able to store files larger then 4 gig. and external WD drives can be a pain in the neck with this type of PVR.. best to use a generic brand preferably with it's own power source.. they hate 2.5 inch drives
