hi johnhol,
i am not sure what solar inverter is (sounds like some kind of power generator?), but this is a wireless usb adapter that is normally used by a computer (laptop or desktop) to communicate with a wireless access point (or router/modem as some people might prefer to call it), and in turn with othter computers on the network.
hope this helps.
