Save your money. These things get brown on the bottom, sure, but not from the impurities in your body. If you put a little tap water on one it will become brown too, due to the stuff inside the pad soaking through. Same effect happens from the moisture in your body, particularly your feet.

I have had no probs with mine and the mic is the little silver part and it works fine very happy. Thank you
