Is this computer really 3ghz dual core? Or is it just another 1.6ghz machine like the one you sold me last time

hi lismore59, i have been told by my supplier that they are 3ghz dual core, there might have been some mistakes on the last batch that were supposed to be 3ghz dual core but instead they were core 2 dual 1.6ghz (which is a better cpu anyway), but under any circumstances both we and our supplier are more than happy to rectify the "problem" if indeed there is a problem in whatever way acceptable to our customers, all you have to do is to give us or our supplier a call. we are responsible for what we advertise, if there is a mistke (which happens sometimes), we will be responsible for that too! so please do advise us if you believe the item you received is not what you were expecting, i am sure we can find a solution. apologies for any inconvenience caused! thanks ray

hi binks, i am sorry i am not sure about the exact age of the computers either, but i would imagine they would be about 3-5 years old as government departments update their computers every so often. thanks ray

its alright, im using it as a media centre so it doesnt need to be that beefy, still i was disappointed and there is no BIOS options to overclock. To prevent this type of thing happening again try this little portable program: http://www.aida64.com/ Basically it will tell you everything about the computer and its hardware/software

this machine uses two DDR2-667mhz 512mb sticks? and most likely 4 DIMM slots. DDR2 ram is pretty cheap. 50bucks for 2GB stick = 3gb of total system memory.

yes this computer is internet ready. Ethernet only. you have to put in a PCI or USB wifi dongle to access wifi internet. And i am not able to do the RAM upgrade, im just a random guy who bought one of these machines a few weeks ago lol. There are tutorials all over the internet on how to put in RAM. Its really easy! If you dont feel confident enough you could always take it to a computer shop?

thanks lismore59, for helping answer some of cadillac1's questions :) cadillac1, we can upgrade memory for you from 1GB to 2GB for extra $40, but please do make sure you call us (02-9748 0600) immediately after you have made the purchase so that we can put a note in your order because the current order system does not cater for such options. please act fast if you want one as they are selling fast and from what i can see they will sell out today :) cheers ray

no probs. What i recommended for this machine: Windows 7 Home, Professional, Ultimate. Doesnt matter they are all the same pretty much. Dont get me wrong XP is fine but needs heaps of programs to do stuff whereas win7 can do most out of the box. 512mb/1GB Graphics card - VGA, DVI, HMDI. HDMI for best results... especially on ur LCD/LED TV! RAM Upgrade - At least 2GB+ Card Reader - Replaces the floppy drive, allows u to read/view SD, XD, CompFlash, USB, etc TV Tuner - Dual Reciever, Digital Only. So you can record 2 shows at once... stop, pause, rewind!
