hi lazybee,
these intercoms communicate through the electricity wire (on the same mains phase), so "range" is not so much of an issue, but your house's electricity wiring is, check with your electrician about phase information, most should be single phase, but even with 3 phase wiring, as long as the power points are on the same phase, these intercoms will work.

Hi lazybee, I had a similar intercom device many years ago. As stated above it plugs into a power point and was quite effective although it sometimes had some interferrence.
