Under what circumstances is this item illegal please provide details?
Can this be turned into a "cattle prod" or something? If The above post from icedvovo is correct foodland surely wouldnt be able to stock them? |

I bought one in Bali and customs took ours from us. Same for our friends in WA.
I was told it is considered a weapon by customs. I was told that someone has imported them and altered the voltage on them, so maybe these are ok. |

I had two of these confiscated from me when I brought them in from Thailand. They were classified by Customs as a weapon ! I only paid $2.00 each. |

Back in 2008 the ACCC and customs declared that these items are not prohibited. Check the notice released at http://www.customs.gov.au/webdata/resources/notices/acn0856.pdf
For those bringing these back from overseas, it is always a good idea to print a copy of the notice out and keep with you for when you come back through customs. I agree that the postage cost from Ozstock is way too high, and a lot of their items can be sent for a lot cheaper. They are already charging $10 for a $2 item. They have to realise that it is not Ebay where they are making up part of their costs in the postage area to pay Ebay less commission. |
