Description
A simple trolley for sharpening chisels and planer blades.
In this device there are places for clamping the blades of planers, as well as chisels.
Clamping blade width of the planer: 35-88 mm
The device itself consists of 2 moving parts in which there are slots for clamping the sharpened tool.
The clamp is made using a screw tie. A hardened wheel is installed on the screed.
An aluminum head with a slot for a screwdriver is pressed onto the tie, but for the reliability of the clamp, and for safety, it is better to grasp it with pliers
Maximum width of the chisels to be clamped: 57 mm
Top row for chisels: 30mm overhang-30 * angle, 40mm overhang-25 * angle.
The bottom row is for planer blades: 30mm overhang-30 * angle, 50mm overhang-25 * angle.
The actual sharpening process itself
I used P60 sandpaper as an abrasive (nothing smaller was found), and a piece of chipboard as a base (not a very good idea). First, I sharpened an old Soviet chisel (or chisel). The sharpening turned out to be convex, as it turned out due to the chipboard curve.
