How heavy an item will it hold vertically. I have an older mobile which has a slight dimpling on its back (not glossy or smooth finish). Will it work with that sort of texture?

Did not work at all with my iPod classic as soon as I accelerated or applied the brakes it fell off. But ah well.

I don't care it can hold the phone or not but after some days it can be covered by the dust and it can't hold any thing :(
