Bought one of these a while ago and it was slooooow, had a Pentium D 3.0GHz. But a cheap graphics card (Nvidia Quadro NVS285 PCI-Express 128MB DUAL Video Card) and 2GB of 663 MHz DDR2 ram (original was 533MHz) and it turned it into a pretty decent computer for a total of $35.

The BIOS states that: "THIS VERSION ONLY SUPPORTS HARDRIVE & CDROM"..... I can anything via USB 'except' a wireless internet Telstra/Dodo dongle! I have checked the registry and all other drivers and services are running ok. All usb functions work. The dongle installs as an MMC storage device in the Device Mnager but is not visible in Windows. Only the storage drivers install. Has anyone successfully installed a wireless dongle? (not wifi) The Elements wifi dongle installed fine. We are looking for an Intel BIOS update/upgrade now!!

BIOS was updated to no effect. (2009) Going to try the Intel BIOS'toolkit' and see if any settings will cease it operating in this way. Checked registry again, value set to '3', all ok!

"WILL NOT ALLOW INSTALLATION OF WIRELESS INTERNET DONGLE" MOTHERBOARD - INTEL - DQ965GF In fairness, there is NO POSSIBLE WAY, that OZSTOCK could be responsible for knowing about an issue like this. The information relating to the issue is not even contained in the Intel motherboard data! The only way I knew something was amiss, was when I noticed the BIOS message! Unfortunately this motherboard BIOS, amongst several other Intel boards, will not allow you to install a wireless usb dongle, from any ISP provider. The BIOS will only recognise the hardive, DVDRW and the USB devices as 'STORAGE' devices. Even then, the wireless internet data, stored in the dongle, will not be accesible, in fact the device will only be visible in the Device Manager, you will not see it in Windows at all. A BIOS update will NOT fix this issue. Installing a PCI USB card will NOT fix the issue, reinstalling Windows (any version) will not fix the problem. Regrettably, when installing the PCI/USB card, the DVDRW was lost in Windows and is now only visible in the control panel. I am certain we will resolve this issue.

The solution is: Format the drive and install Windows 7 32 bit. All issues resolved. Do NOT try to install Windows 7 in Windows, boot into it from startup. The system performs a lot better under Windows 7.
